The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives is pleased to inform you of the call for applications for the NIW.Startups Program.
As a strategic partner of the Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW) hosted by the University of Nairobi, the Ministry is leading various partners in contributing to and enhancing the startup movement by nurturing innovation and supporting entrepreneurship through the NIW.Startups initiative.
Access to funding is one of the pressing problems faced by startups globally. The purpose of NIW.startups is to train home grown localized innovative and scalable startups from all counties in Kenya investor readiness and to either give them access to seed stage funding or growth phase financing options. In contribution to the overall objective of NIW 2017 of strengthening the innovation ecosystem, NIW.Startups seeks to create a common platform through which various support institutions can systematically address the funding challenges of startups.
Startups are invited to apply for the program which will include coaching on pitching, mentoring, investor readiness training and an opportunity to meet with investors/buyers on the Startups Day, on 10th March 2017, during the Nairobi Innovation week.
For details on the eligibility criteria and application, kindly visit the NIW website http://innovationweek.co.ke/niw-startups .
The call for applications will close on 13th January 2017.
