Cabinet Secretary Hon. Lee Kinyanjui’s visit to Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP)

Trade, Investments and Industry Cabinet Secretary Hon. Lee Kinyanjui today visited the Kenya Leather Industrial Park (KLIP), where he was accompanied by Industry Principal Secretary Dr. Juma Mukhwana.

The CS expressed confidence in the ability of the ongoing project to act as an anchor in the development of the leather industry, noting that with the growing demand for leather products in the local and international markets, the operationalization of the leather park which is set to be in early December will aid in the development of the economy and also provide more employment opportunities for job seekers.

CS Kinyanjui further noted that as a step towards achieving the BETA Agenda through the pillar of manufacturing, the completion of the park also aligns with the Vision 2030 of making Kenya a middle-income-earning economy through manufacturing and industry as the key drivers.

The CS's visit is in preparation for an investor conference by players in the leather industry that is set to be held on the 30th of September.

Also present during the visit were KLDC CEO Dr. Issack Noor, EPZA CEO Richard Omellu, UNIDO regional representative and officials from the State Department for Industry
