KENYA INDUSTRIALIZATION CONFERENCE 2025

THE 3RD KENYA INDUSTRIALIZATION CONFERENCE 2025

The 3rd Kenya Industrialization Conference 2025 will be held on 5th - 6th November 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC)

The Conference is conceived as a strategic platform to review progress, deepen policy dialogue, showcase opportunities, and mobilize investments that will drive industrial development. By bringing together policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners, academia, and regional stakeholders, the conference will reaffirm Kenya’s commitment to building a strong and sustainable industrial base capable of driving economic transformation.

The theme of the 3rd Kenya Industrialization conference 2025 is “Driving Kenya’s Manufacturing Competitiveness through Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization, Economic Diversification and Trade Partnerships”. This year’s theme encapsulates Kenya’s ambition to place manufacturing firmly at the core of its economic transformation strategy through competitiveness, inclusivity and sustainability. Beyond this it also aligns with the continental industrial development efforts and the Africa Industrialization Week theme of “Industrializing Africa: Renewed Commitment Towards and Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Economic Diversification”.

The main objective of the conference  is to bring together key stakeholders to showcase and collectively deliberate on strategies for accelerating Kenya’s industrial transformation through investment promotion, partnerships, policy dialogue and innovation, while positioning the country as a regional industrial hub.

Industrialization has been identified as a key driver of inclusive growth, job creation, export diversification, and value addition across sectors. The Kenya’s industrialization agenda is anchored on Vision 2030, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and continental frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The State Department for Industry, under the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI), plays a pivotal role in advancing this agenda. It promotes industrial development and competitiveness through innovation, technology adoption, and value addition; strengthens the capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); attracts investment into priority industries such as agro-processing, textiles and apparel, building materials, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturing; and enhances Kenya’s integration into regional and global value chains. In addition, the Department is mandated to ensuring promotion of sustainable and inclusive industrialization by integrating green growth, circular economy strategies, and the involvement of women, youth, and people with disabilities in industrial progress.

As such, industrialization remains the cornerstone of Kenya’s economic transformation. With a rapidly growing population, rising youth unemployment, and increasing demand for competitive exports, Kenya must accelerate structural transformation through manufacturing and value addition. Currently, manufacturing’s contribution to GDP has stagnated at approximately 8%, far short of the 15% target set in Vision 2030, highlighting the urgency of renewed strategies and partnerships.
