Stakeholders Validate National Industrialization Policy to Strengthen MSME Growth

The State Department for Industry convened a stakeholder engagement forum on the Kenya National Industrialization Policy at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for accelerating Kenya's industrial transformation through Micro, Small and Medium Industries (MSMIs).
The forum provided a platform for participants from government institutions, the private sector, development partners and industry stakeholders to review and enrich the draft National Industrialization Policy. Discussions focused on identifying practical measures that will foster a competitive, inclusive and sustainable industrial sector.
PS for Industry Dr. Juma Mukhwana, in a speech read on his behalf by Director of Industries Victor Mageto noted the need to fast-track the review of the policy meant to revitalize the sector.

The engagement featured a technical presentation by Dr. Caroline Saroni, Team Lead at AfriTrade Consulting Group, who outlined the proposed National Industrialization Policy and its role in promoting industrial growth, value addition and increased competitiveness. Participants also held interactive roundtable discussions on the challenges facing industrialization, emerging opportunities and key policy interventions required to support Kenya's manufacturing sector.
Stakeholders emphasized the importance of strengthening MSMIs, improving the business environment, promoting innovation and enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors to drive industrial development.
The consultative forum forms part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive National Industrialization Policy that reflects stakeholders' views and supports the realization of Kenya's industrialization agenda, economic growth and job creation.
