It is time for action on County Aggregation and Industrial Parks: CS Moses Kuria
The CS for Investments, Trade, and Industry Hon Moses Kuria this morning led the government side for an interaction session with the Council of Governors, Diplomats, Development Partners, Kenya Association of Manufacturers, and the United Nations Industrial Development Agency (UNIDO) to lobby support for a major government initiative- The County Aggregation and Industrial Parks.
He noted emphatically that Kenya has had enough of boardroom talk, Hotel seminars, unceasant research, inactionable feasibility studies, baseline surveys, and of consultants.
"We need to move from entertaining software and move to pragmatic hardware", said the CS.
He listed TEN areas where CAIPs will need Support :
Further infrastructure development.
- Market linkages for exports
- Technical and equipment.
- Twining or adopting a County.
- Kitting of County Industrial Development Officers.
- Incubation centers in all 47 counties in partnership with KIRDI
- Investment Promotion.
- KOMEX and B2Bs
- Buy Kenya branding and communication
- Logistics
Present to give moral support to the CS were PSs Juma Mukhwana of Industry, Jonathan Mueke of Livestock and Kello Harsama of Crops.
Hon Kuria said through CAIPS, rural farmers will be able to access export markets without necessarily traveling out of Kenya.
